Peter Young was a very dear friend, whom I first met when we both lived in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He was English by birth, but his family moved to the U.S. in the early 1960s. He was a talented composer, and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. For a while he ran a coffeehouse in Exeter, New Hampshire. In the early '70s, he and his wife Marianne moved to Wisbeq, Belgium, where he worked as a music editor. He was always in fragile health, and died of respiratory problems in the late '70s. I miss him very much.
