Brake shoes

For caliper (cable-operated) brakes:
Kool Stop Continental Salmon for caliper brakes	Click cart button for price	These stop a lot better than the old black ones. They're an ugly salmon color (using the special "rubber" pioneered by the no-longer available Mathauser brake shoes. Nothing else works as well.	Continental
Fibrax "Raincheaters" for caliper brakes	Click cart button for price	These are the best performing brake shoes on steel rims! And they have the look of the classic Raleigh pads. Made in the UK.
For rod-operated, angled-stud brakes:
Fibrax SH70	Click cart button for price	English made brake shoes, basic quality. 45 mm long. These are the same size as the original Philips/Raleigh shoes.
