This 1950s (40s?) Simplex Tour de France rear derailleur is new, never used, with remnants of the original packaging.

There is a small amount of surface rust on a couple of places, as you can see, but then it is at least 50 years old.

I haven't made any serious effort to clean it up, just wiped it with a paper towel.

It is marked "4vit chaine2.38" on the back of the cage, which indicates that it is intended for a 4-speed freewheel using narrow 3/32" chain.

Also included is the original shift lever and cable.
