27 inch (ISO 630) Wheels from Harris Cyclery

The 630 mm/27 inch size was used on most sporty bikes in the U.S. up until the early 1980s, when it was gradually replaced by the slightly smaller 622 mm size also known as "700C. "

The intended use is for casual daily riding under good road conditions.

630 mm (27 inch) Sun CR-18 rims. Strong, general purpose rim.

These wheelsets are excellent for upgrading older road bikes if you want to stick with the old-style freewheel.

Economical replacement wheel set for older 10-/12-speeds!

Wheelmaster cup-and-cone quick release hub sets, laced into 630 mm (27 inch) Weinmann RM19 rims, with 36 stainless steel spokes. One of these wheelsets will breathe new life into a '70s or '80s sport-touring bike. The rear hub is threaded for a standard freewheel, spaced for 126 mm, compatible with 5-, 6-, or 7-speed freewheels. Older 10-speed frames with 120 mm spacing will need to be spread slightly, but this is not a problem with most frames.
