returns to Sanders Theatre, Cambridge,
for 18 performances
December 14-16, 20-23 & 26-30
For more than 30 years, thousands of families across New England have made attending The Christmas Revels an important part of their family's annual holiday traditions. This December the tradition continues as Revels presents the 31st annual Christmas Revels at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre and a total of 18 performances "in celebration of the winter solstice".
Directed by Revels' artistic director Patrick Swanson with music direction by George Emlen , this year's Christmas Revels takes us to Tudor England during the reign Henry VIII and the time of the founding of the original office of The Revels, a department of the government that managed all court entertainment including jousting, music and masques - all of which will take place in glorious Sanders Theatre. Filled with period music, carols, folk tales and dance, the 2001 Christmas Revels celebrates the solstice as did the Revels of Henry VIII, royally and with grand merriment!
The Christmas Revels is performed at Sanders Theatre , Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Tickets go on sale October 20th at 12 Noon. At that time, tickets will be available through the Harvard Box Office in person or by phone charge at 617-496-2222.
