The Secrets behind Carradice Bags

Carradice have been dedicated to making high performance cycle luggage for longer than anyone else. More than sixty years of experience are used to design and manufacture bags which are superior to any other available. They are made by cyclists for cyclists.

MATERIALS
Carradice uses three different materials in the construction of their bags according to the their designed use and budget:

Cotton Duck
Cotton Duck is used on the top of the range Super C bags and for saddlebags in the Originals range. It is also used for the Shopper and A4 Student bags as well as optionally with the Courier bag and Bike Bureau. The new Day bag is also made from Cotton Duck.

No coatings or laminates to rub off,

Seams automatically self seal when wet,

Moisture permeates through naturally,

Easily repaired in case of accident by glueing or stitching,

Is easily reproofed with natural products,

Self-sealing properties of the close woven material ensure waterproofness even after abrasion.

CorduraŽ
Carradice uses a tough, proofed 1000 denier CorduraŽ for the Carradura and Prima bags. The Bike Bureau is available optionally in CorduraŽ Cordura, made by Du Pont, is a very strong material, highly resistant to abrasion which is lighter than Cotton Duck.

Polyester
Carradice uses a high quality, proofed 600 denier silicon coated polyester for the new Overlander panniers, the Twist Saddlepacks, the Carrycase and the Rackbox.

All Carradice panniers now use the new C-System PANNIER HOOK designed and manufactured exclusively for Carradice using the latest CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping techniques.
It is quick, simple to use and very tough. The C-system hook is used in conjunction with the Rixen and Kaul anti sway catch which helps to make for a totally fumble-free and secure fitting.

Front bags use the patented KLlCKfixŽ fitting from Rixen and Kaul which is widely acknowledged to provide a 100% secure and easy-to-use fitting.
