Looking downstream from the Citadel, Québec city.
The building on the left is the glorious Chateau Frontenac hotel.

The Musée de l'Humanité (if I remember the name correctly) is a world-class museum of culture, science and industry (at least if you read French!) This particular example of 19th century high-tech is a machine for knitting stockings.

Montmorency Falls is near Québec city, and well worth a visit. There is a pleasant bicycle path leading there, near the Ile d'Orleans, downstream from the city.

Parc de Bic, on the south bank as the St Lawrence river gradually widens out to become the Gulf of St. Laurence. This is a wonderful place to hike.

Chateau Bahia. This wooden fairy-tale castle is also a youth hostel, at Pointe à la Garde, at the base of the Gaspé peninsula, on the Baie de Chaleur.

Jean, the delightful builder and proprietor of the Chateau Bahia is also a rabid Beatles fan. The tower on the right, where we stayed in an octagonal room that constitutes the second floor, is named for John Lennon.
